Re—imagining Newhaven
Large–format print

To secure the £7m funding required for rejuvenation, Lewes Council needed a report to show the degradation of the industrial seaside town of Newhaven, as well as laying out the plans to make it a destination on the south coast of the UK.

The typography riffs on the industrial vibe of the town. The layout is sparse and off-kilter, with cinematic photography by Benedict Stenning. Brighter, more energetic pages illustrate the ideas of renewal, with a microplan by Turner.Works.

End result

In Spring 2021, the government confirmed Newhaven would receive just over £5m to deliver a package of interventions to transform the underutilised and vacant commercial properties in the heart of the Town Centre.

Newhaven was one of less than 80 towns selected for this government funding from the Future High Streets Fund.
